The CS659 is a water content probe used in the Hydrosense II system (not for use with dataloggers). (The CS659 is designed for use with the HS2 but not with the HS2P.) This probe has 12 cm rods; another probe, the CS658, has 20 cm rods. When ordered with the HS2 Hydrosense II Display, the CS659 is option -12. It is also available as a replacement part.

Because of the thread type used for the two sensors/rods, it is physically impossible to interchange the rods.
If measurements are needed for both depths, both the CS658 and CS659 must be used.
