The Vista Data Vision Standard suite of data handling applications provides a wide array of tools to organize and display data from your Campbell Scientific dataloggers. Developed and supported by Vista Engineering, it consists of three applications that together build a complete logged data management system. It lets users store their data in a database and publish their data easily to the Web. Powerful custom reports such as histograms and x-y graphs can be created on the fly.
Read MoreWhen receiving new data, VDV compares each sensor reading to the alarm threshold settings for that sensor. If the sensor reading is outside of the alarm threshold, VDV generates an alarm notification, including an on-screen warning, as well as an email message and/or SMS to one or more recipients.
VDV stores its data in the MySQL relational database. (A MySQL commercial license is included with the purchase of VDV.) All operations are automatic and invisible to the user, so there is no need to be a database specialist. VDV includes a wizard for building SQL queries to retrieve data from its MySQL database. Results may be viewed in a table or a graph and saved to a computer.
VDV has a graphical interface for all functions. Data from several locations, such as field stations spread over a large geographical area, may be combined into a single overview. The data may be viewed as tables and graphs on real-time pages.
The built-in VDV web service can serve any number of web-based users and includes all of the tools needed for publishing data to the Internet for review and analysis.
VDVSE is for users with small- to average-size data logging systems who do not need access control to the VDV web service. For users who need access control to the VDV web service, VDVPRO (professional version) is a more suitable alternative.

VDV is a sensor data management service provider whose standard and professional software versions are used by Campbell Scientific customers.
The software reads *.dat files into a database and allows for the real-time manipulation of the views of the data. Vista Data Vision software simplifies the data management of large data sets by pulling data from one or many stations and providing real-time visualization. For example, with a graph populated with data, the choice can be made to view the data for one week, one month, or even one year.
A 90 day evaluation version of the Vista Data Vision software is available from the “Download” section of the Vista Data Vision website. Typically, the evaluation version is the Enterprise version; however, a Pro or Standard version can be requested. To request the download, complete a short online form.
