Overview

The Kipp & Zonen SMP10-L is a secondary standard pyranometer that combines the sensor technology from the CMP11, the Smart interface from the SMP11 and the low maintenance from the CMP10-L.

The SMP10-L has an internal drying cartridge that will last for at least 10 years if the housing is not opened. This minimizes maintenance significantly.

The interval for dome cleaning can be extended, and the quality of measurements maximized, by fitting SMP10-L with the CVF4 ventilation unit.

Benefits and Features

  • ISO 9060 Secondary Standard
  • No desiccant inspection or change for 10 years
  • Minimized maintenance
  • Lowest cost of ownership
  • Best price / performance ratio
  • Integrated bubble level is visible without removing sun shield
  • Compatible with Kipp & Zonen's CVF4 heater/ventilator that keeps the pyranometer dome free from ice and dew
  • Provides measurements in direct sunlight, under plant canopies, when the sky is cloudy, and in artificial light

Technical Description

Kipp & Zonen's SMP10-L has Modbus® interface, amplified analogue output, improved response time and termperature corrected measurement data. The wide and low power supply ranges from 5 to 30 VDC, which makes integration in meteorological and solar energy stations easy. The SMP10-L is protected against over voltage, reversed polarity and short circuiting.

Thanks to the identical sensitivity and connections of every SMP10, exchanging instruments for recalibration is easy.

Compatibility

Mounting

Kipp & Zonen's CMP10-L has a bubble level and two leveling feet, which allow it to be leveled without using a leveling base. The 015 Mounting Arm can be used to mount the sensor to a mast or the CM225 Solar Sensor Mounting Stand can be used to attach the sensor to a mast, crossarm, or pole (1.0-in. to 2.1-in. outer diameter).

Alternatively, the CM245 Adjustable Angle Mounting Stand may be used. It includes slots that can be adjusted to any angle from horizontal to vertical. The CM255LS allows for easier pyranometer levelling. The L31153 can also be used to mount a pyranometer housed inside of the CVF4 heater/ventilator.
