Lost loggernet disc

Tyler Apr 11, 2011 04:24 AM

Any suggestions for a lost loggernet disc?

I've lost the disc in a recent move and have graded my computer... Which doesn't have a serial port(needed to program a cr1000) or LoggerNet.

Thanks,
Tyler

I suggest you contact Campbell Scientific directly about your issue.

Tyler,

The disk its self is the license to the software. If the disk is lost or destroyed, to use LoggerNet on another computer would require a new license.

If you are in a Jam and you need a temporary license now,you can download LoggerNet 4.x the 30 day trial.

Just FYI, here is a light read of our software license agreement.

regards,

License for Use
LoggerNet is protected by United States copyright law and
international copyright treaty provisions. Installation of LoggerNet
(including the trial version) constitutes an agreement
to abide by the provisions of its licensing agreement. The
agreement grants the user a non-exclusive license to use the
software in accordance with the following:

(1) The purchase of this software allows you to install
and use the soft ware on one computer only.

(2) This software cannot be loaded on a network
server for the purposes of distribution or for
access to the software by multiple operators. If
the soft ware can be used from any computer
other than the computer on which it is installed,
you must license a copy of the software for each
additional computer from which the software
may be accessed.

(3) If this copy of the software is an upgrade from
a previous version, you must possess a valid
license for the earlier version of software. You
may continue to use the earlier copy of software only if the upgrade copy and earlier version
are installed and used on the same computer.
The earlier version of software may not be
installed and used on a separate computer or
transferred to another party.

(4) This software package is licensed as a single
product. Its component parts may not be
separated for use on more than one computer.

(5) You may make one (1) backup copy of this
software onto media similar to the original
distribution, to protect your investment in the
software in case of damage or loss. This backup
copy can be used only to replace an unusable
copy of the original installation media.
LoggerNet software or its trial may not be sold, included,
or redistributed in any other software or altered in any way without prior written permission from Campbell Scientific.

Hi Jon,

Thank you for your inquiry. To use your unique product key you will need the original LoggerNet disk. The LoggerNet 30 Free trial is not the same license and cannot be converted over.. The 30 day free trial will need to be uninstalled and the standard license will need to be installed using it's unique product key. If you have lost the original disc a new one will need to be purchased.

Regards,

Hello Jon,

The installation for the 30 day trial is a different installation, and the trial executables are installed in a different directory (the working directories are the same). The trial cannot be "activated" to turn on the full, licensed version of LoggerNet. It must be uninstalled, and then the full version installed. The full version will use the same working directory, so in essence, you can "pick up where you left off".

Since you have provided your contact information above, I will have someone in our Renewable Energy group contact you and talk about options for your customer.

Regards,

Dana
