GPRS

Bo Mar 4, 2009 01:01 PM

I have bought a CS-GPRS communication package to do GPRS callback from my CR1000 in the field.

This is how far I have reached in the manual:

+ Modem and logger is on a stable 12V power supply.

+ SIM PIN code is disabled and i have checked that I can do a GSM data-call from LoggerNet and an other modem with no problems.

+ GPRS is enabled for my SIM card and I have checked that it can connect to the Internet on my cell phone.

+ I have not reconfigured the Fastrack Supreme modem that went along with the package and the settings look like it should when I connect via HyperTerminal.

+ I have used the default setup with SC105 connected between modem and SC I/O and both SC105 and CR1000 setup to communicate via SDC7 at 9600 baud, 1 stop bit, 0 parity, 8 data bits.

+ On the Deployment TCP/IP tab I have chosen SDC7, 0.0.0.0 IP address (because I have no fixed IP on the SIM card), user name and password is blank (because the airtime company require these to be blank), response 21, and I have tried both '*99***1#' and 'at+cgdcont=1,"IP","tdcgprs";atd*99***1#' and 'at+cfun=1;;;;;at+cgdcont=1,"IP","tdcgprs";atd*99***1#' (without the quotes).

+ tdcgprs is the APN servername and I have checked that it is available with this command from HyperTerminal: AT+CGATT=?

+ I have also typed in my airtime providers primary and secondary DNS server IPs (even though the manual does not say anything about this).

But still both my IP and gateway is 0.0.0.0

Does anyone have any clue about what is wrong here? And what I should do to get my variable IP?

Regards, Bo

Sorry but I am not able to tell where you are from. But I am guessing from Denmark and you are using the TDC network. If my guess is right the APN name should be "internet" not TDCGPRS if the various sites I checked on the internet are correct. Some write this as TDCGPRS APN - internet, but the setting is by all accounts "internet"

If this does not work please email me directly and I will take you onto another level of diagnostics.

I'm also strugling with this in Denmark with TDC - do you have a suggestion for the Modem Dial String? Yes; the APN is "internet" and the name is "TDC". Username/password: blank.

I'm trying with:
AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”internet”;ATD*99***1#

Hi Bo, APS and MathiasMadsen

I'm considering buying the same solution (CS-GPRS) and are also going to use the TDC network.

Are the problem fixed or should I find another solution ?
