Loggernet connection error message

PeteThomas99 Jan 20, 2011 10:15 AM

Hi

I hope someone can help

I have successfully managed to connect to the CR1000s mounted on two masts over the last 4 months or so. In the last month, I have not been able to connect to one of the loggers and nothing has changed in the setup, or the SIM card etc, and a site visit has confirmed that all the connections are good.

The error messages I have received from Loggernet are a bit strange as I have not come across the "handle invalid" error as listed below

Failure: 20/01/2011 09:47:07.561
transaction failure","unreachable destination","Get Logger Program Status
Failure: 20/01/2011 09:47:07.561
transaction failure","unreachable destination","check/set clock
Failure: 20/01/2011 09:47:07.561
set comm mask failed","6","The handle is invalid.","10035","A non-blocking socket operation could not be completed immediately.

any help or pointers would be much appreciated

Hi PeteThomas99,

If this is on solar power, I would check the batteries. If your cell modem is on continuously it has the potential to drain your battery really fast. Only power on your modem when necessary.

The error is a standard Winsock error. The error is non-fatal, and the packet that failed will be retried later. Typically, the error is due to network congestion or a poor communication
link.

Adding a few seconds extra response time to the link in LoggerNet will cause LoggerNet to wait a little longer before it times out, and the packet will be tried again and likely go through.
