For past year or so we had CR3000 directly connected to a computer through COM1 and it was working just fine. Recently, I have connected a CR1000 through a DB9->usb converter, COM3.
Now, LoggerNet has no issues connecting to CR1000, but it is unable to connect to CR3000. I suspect it is due to the fact that both CR1000 and CR3000 have the same PakBus address, what should I do to change it? Or is there some other problem with this setup which I am missing?
Are you still using COM1 for the CR1000? If so, make sure the COM1 port is still selected for the CR1000. What connection software are you using?PC200W, PC400 or LoggerNet?
If you are using the COM3 device for both CR1000 and CR3000, use the Device Configuration Utility to change the PakBus address of one of the dataloggers to see if this helps.
I was using COM1, the real communication port of the computer for the CR3000 and COM3, serial->usb, for CR1000.
Software wise I was using VisualWeather 3.0 for CR1000 and LoggerNet for CR3000
I have solved the issue by deleting both data loggers from their respective softwares, then restarting the computer. After computer booted back up I first added both of them in LoggerNet and only then added CR1000 to VisualWeather 3.0

All devices need to be assigned a unique PakBus address. You'll need to change one of the dataloggers from 1 to some number between 2 and 3999. Any number will do.
