Communication failure

Nicholas Sep 10, 2010 07:34 PM

Hi,

I have two data loggers (CR 800 and CR 1000) to download data from but I get a communication failure between the PC and any of the data loggers. I am using PC 400 version 1.5 software to download the data. I have tried to solve the problem by using the device configurataion utility technique with no success!

Looking forward to your response.

Nicholas

You can connect to them using Device Config?

Nicholas

A bit more info is needed.

What sort of link is between the PC and loggers? eg. radio, phone, cellphone, hard wired directly?

How long has the setup been working for or is this a new setup?

Can you connect to them directly on site?

Cheers

Grant

One of the first things to check is to make sure each datalogger has a unique PakBus address, and that this address is entered into the appropriate field when setting up the stations in PC400 (PakBus Address is found on the Datalogger Settings page of the Setup Wizard).

By default, all dataloggers are shipped with a PakBus address of 1.

What kind of error message do you receive when trying to connect?

Dear All,

Thanks for the assistance. I have been able to fix the problem and incidentally it was one of the connecting cables (between the PC and the Datalogger) which had a problem.
