Hi,
I am using a MC35i GSM modem to call a CR1000 logger. Connection is as follows:
1)black SC12 Rev 1 cable connected to CS I/O port of CR1000
2)SC923A connected to black cable (Logger side)
3) DIY Y Rs232 cable to minitor comms between SC923A and GSM modem. Y cable is tested and working. Monitoring PC cannot interfere with RS232 coms.
The modem settings are as follows:

When I dial from loggernet I can see the modem is ringing on RS232 but the logger does not answer.
Auto answering is set to 2 rings (ATS0 =2)
Should I configure the logger first via RS232 to accept incoming calls from a GSM modem?

There is no configuration needed in the logger to allow it to answer incoming connections on the COM ME port.
To resolve this probelm I would check out your RS232 cable making sure the DTR line to the modem is connected. I would also disable handshaking in the modem. (Not sure if you have as we do not officially support that modem)
When you say it does not answer, if you dial the data number for the phone is the called answered and you hear modem negotiation tones, or does it ring out?

However, I use the command AT&D0 to Disable DTR and call between base phone and remote phone via hyper terminal , it work ok, but It still does not work.
