Using Storage Module 192 with CR10/CR500

Daniel May 13, 2010 08:43 PM

I am trying to get these older Storage Module 192 units to work with our CR10/CR10X/CR500/CR510 data loggers and am not seeing a way to program the logger to store data to them. Our primary purpose is for a logger that fills up and using the storage module as spill over or just increasing capacity for our site locations with multiple sensors that seem to fill up quite quickly.

Using Shortcut 2.8 is there a way to write the program to store data to the module? If not that newer version, we also have Shortcut V 1.0 if that would work better with this older equipment.

Additionally, we are seeing some inconsistencies as far as when a program written with Shortcut 2.8 will delete the data on the logger when sending a new program to it. Sometimes we lose all the data when we send a new program, sometimes all the data remains. It has confused us for awhile.

This is what we use for the storage module output

76: Serial Out (P96)
1: 71 Storage Module

Also, always save/download the data before sending a new program. Sending the new program typically deletes all saved data. I'm not sure why it doesn't happen all the time for you.
