Remote data rerieval using NL115 or other device?

LATR Mar 22, 2010 08:52 AM

Our OPEC system uses a NL115 on a CR3000; So far, I am able to collect data remotely from the card as well as using other functions of logger net. However, I 'd like to know, if It is possible to use the same device to schedule remote data collection (i.e. "stream" data every 30min or 1 hr) to my server at school?

Can the above be accomplished by scheduling a task or by using TCP/IP function with a NL115?, if not what can you suggest to perform near real time data collection? ...
I tried task schedule every 30 min but I believe it only works for datalogger to datalogger communication?

I am new with this system, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

If you are collecting the data already with Loggernet (using the time schedueled collection) and simply want to transfer the data on you could look at the new option to automatically ftp files that Loggernet has collected onto another server (search for ftp in the help of LN4). This is option in the task master program.

If you do not want to use Loggernet, please look at the CRBasic help for the tablefile and ftpclient commands, which let you generate a file on the logger and then ftp it off to a remote server directly from the logger.

If what you want is the latter option, then please make sure that after changing your program that you do not get skipped scans in the program on the logger, as generating the files and ftp'ing them will put some load on the processor and the last thing you want to do is to start to drop measurements.

Great!, I am not using LN4. So I will go with the 2nd option. Thanks for your help.
