RTMC Web Server issues

Matt3169 Feb 26, 2010 01:48 AM

I'm having problems with the latest versions of RTMC and RTMC Web Server, I cannot access the server I.P. address/data from remote locations. Using my laptop at the location of the server CPU, however, works just fine.

The RTMC web server instructions relate:

"There are many types of networks, firewalls, and ISPs. If you are having problems accessing your web server you will need to contact your network administrator to troubleshoot the issue."

Unfortunately, I don't have a network administrator. I tried turning off my firewall to no avail. Anybody have any advice? It will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

You might need to describe more about your network configuration and where you are trying to access the data from.

The first thing I would try is to ping the IP address of the RTMC WebServer machine from "remote locations"?

If you are trying to access the machine through a public IP address, then you are probably going through a router of some sort and would need to setup "Port Forwarding" to reach the RTMC WebServer.

Thanks tmecham. This is the conclusion I came to as well. I think I'll have it sorted soon.
