Cr1000 with multiple connections

James Dec 8, 2009 02:55 PM

To all,

I need some general tips to setup a Cr1000 to handle the following communication:

1. RS232 port connected to wavecom modem to send and receive short messages and for remote support dial up.
2. NL115 connected to a few Pc's using Loggernet and the web Interface the logger creates
3. CS I/O connected to a master PC using Loggernet

The logger drop the comms to a Pc as soon as more than one is connected via Loggernet. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
James

Make sure that all the copies of Loggernet are assigned different Pakbus addresses for the PAkbus port they are using to connect to the logger, otherwise the Logger "gets confused" as to which Loggernet server is where.

To change the Pakbus address of the Pakbus port on the Loggernet server, open the Setup screen and select the function under the Options drop down menu. 4094 is the default. Select addresses >3999 and <4094.

This must be done for each PC which is going to connect at the same time.

Andrew,

Thanks. Another last question before I go to the client.

Must each Loggerent use different Packbus addresses for each port or can they be the same between Pc'c ?

Unless you want to do something complicated, like bridging, all the Pakbus ports on one PC can be the same address.

The critical thing is that two different PCs connecting to the logger cannot have the same Pakbus address.

I did setup as you said. The webpages from different PC'c is working fine and the PC connected via Loggernet and the CS I/O port, but the Loggernet PC'c via the network disconnect all the time. I gave them all different Packbus Adresses.

Is there not something specific about the setup of the Cr1000 ?

Are some of the PCs connecting via a GPRS connection using the Wavecom, i.e. do you have two TCP/IP links running at once?
