RTMC Pro - repeat data sources

1BitShort Jul 7, 2016 10:13 AM

Hi

When adding a file data source to RTMC PRO where does RTMC aquire the table structure of the data from?

The reason I ask - my TOA5 .dat file created by Loggernet from a particular CR1000 table looks perfect. However when I add it as a file data source in RTMC a lot of the items appear 64 times. e.g. Xtemperature(1) Xtemperature(2)..Xtemperature(64). Other tables via this route from the CR1000 are fine.

 Thanks

Dave

Hey Dave,

LoggerNet is recognizing Xtemperature as an array.  When RTMC displays it in the data selection window, the array is collapsed and you can expand into it to select elements of the array.  The TOA5 file has a header in the first few lines that defines the structure of the file.  Each element of an array is expanded out like you are seeing.  When RTMC reads in the TOA5 file, all it sees are scalars.

Hope this helps explain things.

Thanks Tyler that does explain what is happening. I am not near the project now but when I get back to it, hopefully tomorrow I'll try again displaying the most recent value in the array as a digital display, numeric alarm etc.
