CC640 connection to CR10XPB

BNZLTER Nov 7, 2008 10:03 PM

Hi there,
With the intention of retrieving pictures via a free wave radio network I am attempting to get a cc640 working with my cr10xpb. I am using an SC32B to communicate with the logger from my laptop (prior to the next step of radio communications. I cannot connect to it while the camera is connected. Is there a reason for this?
Thanks,
I am sure there are more questions to follow.

Hello,

The SC32B is a modem enabled device, and the CC640 is an SDC device. As you learned, using both at once doesn't work :)-- the SC32B is not capable of concurrent communication.

You should be able to use an SC105 with a null-modem cable on the RS232 side (modem side) of the connector. The SC105 will need to be configured with an SDC address different than the CC640 camera. For instance, set the camera to SDC7 and the SC105 to SDC8.

Note, however, that the SC105 was not designed with this in mind so there are no guarantees it will work flawlessly.

HTH,

Dana W.
