Measure DC-DC LVDT by CR800

Hello,

Please kindly advice me how to wire 04 numbers of DC to DC LVDT to the CR800 with a Multiflexer AM16/32. The LVDTs use the input excitation of 5V-18V DC, 60mA and output of +/- 2.2V. And please let me know how many DC-DC LVDT which can be measured by CR800 and a AM16/32.

The +/- 2.2V could be read either as a single ended voltage, or as a differential voltage. The differential measurement is more accurate if you have the available channels. On a single AM16/32, you could measure 32 differential voltages OR 64 single ended voltages. There would be few available channels on the datalogger itself as well.

Thanks JDavis for your advice.

However I still confuse. As I know, the differential or single ended voltage just have 02 wire (pls let me know if I'm wrong).

And the DC to DC LVDT have 5 wires (02 wires for Input Voltage, 02 wires for Output Voltage and 01 Shied).

So, could you please let me know how to Wire the Input (2 wires) and Output (2 wires) to the AM16/32 or CR800?

The input voltage wires will should go directly to your power source. The 60 mA of current is safe to switch through a AM16/32 multiplexer, but will degrade the contact resistance of the relays making it unsuitable to be used for other projects. If you were to multiplex the power, the multiplexer would need to be in 4x16 mode. You could connect a maximum of 16 sensors that way and need to allow additional settling time for the LVDT to warm up.

For help with wiring the signal, I suggest using ShortCut. Generic Single Ended and Generic Differential Voltage are supported in ShortCut on the AM16/32.
