Page 21 of the AVW200 manual has a table showing how to connect the AVW200 to a COM port pair using a 17855 cable. This cable has three leads on one end and terminates in a 9-pin serial connection on the other.

The manual is found here:

Dear Sir

I have no 17855 cable,but have a 9-pin Rs232 cable.
In AVW200 manual, brown wire what pin is? white wire what pin is ? yellow wire what pin is ?

Thanks

Regards

Alex

The brown wire goes to C1, C3, C5, or C7. This is marked TX on the datalogger wiring panel, for Transmit.

The white wire goes to C2, C4, C6, or C8. This is marked RX on the datalogger wiring panel, for Receive.

If you search the web for "RS232 pinout" you will find many drawings that show pin 2 is Receive, pin 3 is Transmit, and pin 5 is ground.

Transmit goes to receive; receive goes to transmit; ground goes to ground.

Hopefully this helps. Regards,

Dana

Hello,

I am currently struggling with getting an AVW200 communicate with the C1/C2 port.
It worked fine when the AVW200 was connected to the RS232 port on the CR1000, but changing it to the C1/C2 pair (using the cable 17855) and changing the AVW200 instruction parameter "RS232" to "Com1" does not work - no communication.

Is there an additional measure to be taken (e.g. because the C1/C2 ports only carry 0 or +5V, which are not the RS-232 logic levels?). We tried different parameters, but up to now without success...

Thanks for your help,

Jan.
