Rotary Encoder

Ponce Sep 30, 2015 04:18 PM

Hi,

I am trying to read signals from a Rotary Encoder. The Encoder is a high precision encoder with incremental output. For each 0.18° step forward I have a full Sinusoidal wave.

Problem is now that if I try to read the signal with the Pulsecount command it will sometimes measure the correct number of pulses, sometimes not due to the fluctuations of the signal.

Any idea how to read that signal?

Thanks in advance!

Sinusoidal waves should be read with the LLAC mode of PulseCount.

Hi JDavis,

yes. I thought the same, but it misses some pulses when turning. I think the Pulse channels are not made for small steps and slow sinusoidal waves...

As you have seen in the other post we will try the ND280.
