Short distance cable for PakBus between two loggers

TommyC May 29, 2015 01:51 PM

Question: Is it possible to connect to loggers (CR3000) together using a short cable (10') via the CSIO ports?? All of the comm ports are busy for this application. This PakBus network will need to commuticate thru one of the loggers via a Raven cell modem.

Thanks,

You cannot directly connect CSIO to CSIO. Both dataloggers are CSIO master devices. Two SC105 would do the job for a cable short distance. The SC105 does not provide electrical isolation. So, if the dataloggers are not connected to the same power ground, the MD485 is recommended.

Thanks. Would two NL115's work and a crossover cable? Need both loggers on the Pakbus network with one logger connected to the Raven.

Thanks

Yes. You can connect the loggers together over Ethernet.
