CR1000 and Acceleration-Sensor

Hi,

I'd like to use a Acceleration-Sensor with diff.-voltage output on the CR1000 for measuring the acceleration amplitude of a railway sleeper.

It looks like, that I'm missing some parts of the acceleration signal of the sensor, maybe because of settling time, A/D-conversion time etc.

Is there a way to expand the integration time of the signal over the 20msec of the _50Hz AC noise rejection function?

My plan is to get as much information of the acceleration-sensor as possible. A integration time of 1 sec or more could solve my problem.

Or is there another solution to log the acceleration over a longer time without missing some parts of the amplitude?

Hello Martin,

You are correct that you are missing the peak amplitudes due to the longer measurement time (settling time, integration time, and reverse measurement).

In order to achieve the maximum scan rate with the CR1000, you will want to change the measurement integration time to 250 uSeconds. The default settling time will then be 450 uSeconds.
Turning off the Reverse measurement option will further reduce the time required for the measurement (at the expense of measuring more input referred noise.

Any other measurements in your program should reflect these same changes.

If you are making only 1 volt diff measurement and follow the above steps, you will be able to run the program at the maximum 100Hz rate (10 millisecond scan rate).
