PakBus over RF310M

MBehling Feb 10, 2015 10:04 PM

Has anyone tried the DialSequence with a PakBus data transfer command using RF310M modems and radios? I get my CR1000 telling me that it's trying and failing to connect but my radio never transmits.

In a typical RF310M network, Loggernet is attached to the base modem and any Pakbus communication has to got through Loggernet.DialSequence is not needed, nor should be used in this case. Loggernet is able to route Pakbus communication between dataloggers.

If you are trying to use a CR1000 to run the base modem and dial specific stations, this can be done with some difficulty. EVERY RF310M in the network would need to be using a Mixed Array PROM. The Table Data(TD) PROMs do not allow the functionality. This also applies to RF500M using the Dial OS. The manual for the RF95A has information about the dial strings. SerialOut is useful because it can both send the dial string and wait for the expected response from the modem.

DialSequence has not been tested in this application, but could theoretically be used.
