CR1000-Std. 27: CS I/O communication problem

siarcida Jan 26, 2015 10:16 AM

Hi all,

We have a CR1000, OS 27, measuring weather data. Datalogger works fine but we cannot retrieve data remotely. We use a GPRS modem (manofacturer: MTX-Terminals, model: MTX-65i) connected to the CS I/O port using a SC932A interface. The port configuration speed is set to "CS I/O ME - 9600 Auto".

An in-situ check shows:

- Datalogger/Program works, it collects data, executes calculations and stores results.
- RS-232 port works ok, we can connect a computer to the CR1000, retrieve data and change parameters
- CS I/O port is blocked, we get an error when we try to connect a computer; if we reset the datalogger (power out-power in) the CS I/O port works again, that means: it is possible to communicate directly using the appropiate cable and/or remotely via the installed modem; but after a while it gets blocked again.

In order to find a solution we would like to know:
- Any ideas why does the CS I/O port block?
- Is it possible to program the datalogger to reset the CS I/O automatically until we find a solution?
- As the RS-232 port works well, is it possible to connect the modem directly to that port (without the interface) if yes, which is the wiring of the cable?

Thanks in advance for your time and help
