Historic Data on RTMC Pro?

RyanBares Sep 30, 2014 05:35 PM

Is there a way to display historic data on RTMC Pro?

I am plotting a weeks worth of data, and would like it to automatically fill the full range with existing data.

This functionality is provided in RTMC by the use of Expressions. There are several 'Start Options'. The simplest to use is probably StartAtRecord. With that expression, you can force RTMC to begin reading data for a source in the Loggernet cache from record 0 instead of the default of data collected since RTMC opened. Search in the RTMC help for StartAtRecord and you will find an example on how to use it. Expressions only work on one project element at a time ie add an expression for each line on a graph.

When you use a file(like a .dat) as a data source, there is an option presented in Manage Data Sources which lets you indicate if data should be read starting at the beginning of the file.

You may also be interested in adding a Report Range to your RTMC project which will let you scroll back to earlier data.

I tried this but it didn't work. I am working with CR23x's and txt files. Could that be causing a problem?

Are you using the server datasource, or are you setting up file datasources in RTMCPro or both? Ensure that all of your data is in the LoggerNet cache if you are using the server datasource. Be sure that you are backfilling the entire file and that all the data you expect to see on the chart is in the file if you are using a file datasource.

Charts should automatically backfill the amount of data specified with the data range and display range properties on the bottom axis.
