Measurement Matters – Help Us Help You – Part 1 Programming

jra Jul 22, 2014 02:43 PM

Q: I’m getting ready to talk to an Application Engineer at Campbell Scientific about a problem programming my datalogger. What information should I have ready?

A: The more prepared you are, the easier it will be to get your problem solved.
At a minimum you’ll want to know:
* What datalogger you’re working with. CR1000, CR200X, CR5000, CR10X…
* What sensors you have.
* What software you’re using. LoggerNet, PC400, PC200W…
* How your computer communicates with the datalogger. USB to serial, Ethernet, cellular modem…
* What else is connected to the datalogger?
You’ll also want a copy of:
* The program,
* The data table files, and
* Wiring schematic.

Tip: Sensor model numbers are often found on the cable label.
