Permanent NAN value occur in dat file

wanagorn May 20, 2014 08:08 AM

I have 11 CR1000 data loggers and after several months usage we found "NAN" occur for 3 sites. How to attached the .dat data for consideration.

Thank you.

Are these Vibrating wires?

What hardware have you connected to the logger. Multiplexers for example are they Campbell's.

It looks like a component common to all of the sensors has failed. Could be a multiplexer or AVW200 for example.

wanagorn May 20, 2014 09:03 AM

Yes, these are 16 Vibrating wires.
Multiplexer is not Campbell. It's connected to AVW200 and CR1000.

EarlyBird May 20, 2014 09:11 AM

What make of multiplexer?
Was there lightening in the logger location?

For this site.
It is ROCTEST TELEMAC Mux

And the other site is Campbell Mux.

Both sites have the same problem. The dataloggers have sent "NAN" values to the server.

EarlyBird May 20, 2014 09:29 AM

You need to check for hardware failures. Multiplexers being struck by lightening is a common cause of failures but I have not had that with the AM16/32B. I have also found the AVW200 very robust.

wanagorn May 20, 2014 09:32 AM

Thank you very much.
I will recheck my hardware again.

EarlyBird May 20, 2014 09:33 AM

How do you mean again?

Can you hear the muxes clocking over?

wanagorn May 20, 2014 09:40 AM

Yes, sure.
I have a Vibrating wire readout unit.
I have connected it at the input port (V1+,V1-,T1+,T1-) of AVW200, it can reading value of all sensors.

EarlyBird May 21, 2014 07:53 AM

That is good we now know that the multiplexer is working.

You need to look at the AVW200. How are you controlling the Mux by AVW200 or CR1000?

wanagorn May 21, 2014 07:58 AM

The Mux was controlled by CR1000.

EarlyBird May 21, 2014 08:10 AM

It is possible that the AVW200 is not working then.
