Logger storage when not in use for many months (or perhaps years)

Anton Jan 24, 2014 04:14 PM

I have a CR10x logger that is not serving any useful purpose at the moment. What would be the best way to store it: powered down completely, or attached to 12 Vdc without a program running? Could there be a benefit to removing the internal battery?

Would the answer be different for a CR1000?

In the lab, at home or in the car, I would find something for him to do (so it does not get tired!).
But, if it is not powered, you should remove the internal battery and keep it in a place clean and dry. The same applies to the CR1000. I've a CR1000 with the internal battery fully discharged because the owner had stored it for a long time.
