MODBUS TCP/IP via radio modem RF401

fpborges Jan 16, 2014 05:14 PM

We are stablishing double communication, MODBUS TCPIP and Loggernet, with a CR1000 throught a NL200 connected to the CS I/O port. This test was performed in the lab. we need to use this topology on the field and we thought that we could transmit the data signal towards the receiving station via RF401 radio modem as a transparent device, two miles away from the weather station. Hence, the connections will look like this:

RF401 (CS I/O, Weather Station) --- RF401 (CS I/O, Receiving station) --- NL200 --- PC Server

Despite the signal interference and the distance between the stations, do you think that this configuration will work?

Regards,
Francisco.
