AVW200 and CR200X

JorgeFernandezEscobar Oct 18, 2013 02:38 PM

Hello to everyone.

Can I use two AVW200 Vibrating Wire Spectrum Analyzer Module with a CR200X Datalogger?

How many AVW200 can I use with the CR800?

Thanks.

For CR800, you can use COM1(C1/C2),COM2(C3/C4), and RS232 for direct connection. If you are going to use radio, please refer to the thread that I posted few days ago:

'Is there a limit for the number of AVW200/206 that can be connected to one CR800 wirelessly'

The CR200X does not implement the "AVW200" instruction (in CRBasic programs) which would be a requirement for it to connect to an AVW200 device via RS-232.

The only way to use an AVW200 with a CR200X/CR200 is to use the SDI-12 connection.

You may be able to set up multiple AVW200's on the same SDI-12 "bus" that connects into the CR200X, but you would have to make sure that each AVW200 has a unique SDI-12 address
(set with DevConfig). At that point you have some work to do to create a fairly complicated SDI-12 program for the CR200X (it works a bit differently than on the other dataloggers). Please read the SDI12Recorder CRBasic help instruction for details on how the program is written. There is a sample program there, etc.
