CR500 with INW pressure transducer

Jennifer Jul 28, 2009 01:37 PM

Hi!

I am new to the forum and fairly new to working with Campbell Scientific dataloggers. I have willing inherited the job of programming CR500, CR510 and CR10X with INW Transducers. Our current software is PC208W and we use EdLog to change the stage readings. I am looking for advice to upgrade our software from PC208W to possibly PC200W or LoggerNet? In addition I am looking to upgrade from EdLog and possibly using Terminal Emulator to change our stage readings. Does anyone have suggestions as to the best way to upgrade our system?

Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to the forum.

If you are using PC208W to poll the stations automatically, I'd upgrade to Loggernet. PC200W doesn't have the automatic polling last time I looked.

There are tools (Convert) that will allow you to convert your CR10X programs to the newer CRBasic for the CR500 and CR510 loggers. You may have to do a little adjusting but it works pretty good for the most part.

There are plenty of people here than can help you out if you run into trouble.

Good Luck,
IslandMan

Hello Jennifer,

PC200W would be a step or two down from PC208W. LoggerNet is considered the replacement for PC208W. PC200W does not have Edlog (only ShortCut), allows a direct connection only, and cannot perform scheduled data collection.

An upgrade is available from PC208W to LoggerNet. Contact the CSI office for your country for pricing or go to our web site and submit a "quick quote" request.

Regards,

Dana

Hi Jennifer,

The Transformer that IslandMan mentioned is not going to help you with your CR500 or CR510 loggers, they are programmed with Edlog just as the CR10X is.

If you already have working programs take a look at them in Edlog. If you see an @@number you have variables that can be changed through Star 4. If you don't have *4 variables you can add them in Edlog. This will help with making changes via the CR10KD or terminal emulator.

If you don't have a working program then download a copy of ShortCut http://www.campbellsci.com/19_1_9999_82 That will help your programming efforts. There is a 'sensor' file under Water | Level & Flow called 'offset calculation' that will help you make changes to your stage reading via CR10KD, terminal mode or your software's numeric monitor.

Post again if you need more input.

Regards,
Janet

All,

Sorry, I thought all CR loggers used CRBasic.

Thanks,
IslandMan
