Scanner connection datalooger

MaximeD Oct 9, 2013 12:12 PM

Hi all,

I have a problem, because I have a plan to connect a scanner (http://www.fnac.com/Epson-Perfection-V330/a3084407/w-4) or a camera to a datalogger.

I'm not a expert but I think scanner need a OS so it'll be impossible with campbell...

Firt, do you think is possible ?

Thank you in advance,

Regards,
Maxime

I looked up the scanner and it appears to be a USB device and likely relies on the computer for most of its processing. This is unlikely to work with the datalogger because the datalogger cannot act as a USB host (or a USB slave for that matter). If the scanner offered services over TCP and said services were documented, it is certainly possible to do what you are asking. That said, I doubt that the protocol used to control the scanner is publicly available or that Epson would be willing to reveal it. I would say "Abandon Hope all Ye that Enter Here".
