remote telemetry in Australia

DanielG Jul 20, 2009 06:01 PM

Hi

I am in Australia and Campbell scientific here has a option to utilise the Next G network.

There are Next G Maxon modems (DCP-Kit) available and ethernet interfaces for the CR1000 (NL120).

I have used a RF network (RF401) and GSM modem, however I am finding there is a need for speed and quicker connection time these days.

The GSM modem in Australia also costs every time you connect and it charges by 'time connected and a connection fee', so a connection with 12 sites every day can add up.

Can you point me in the right direction for a wireless set up, broadband that acts just as an internet connection.

This would allow constant connection, multiple connection, quicker alerts, less drop outs and a capped monthly broad band fee.

I am thinking this would be preferable in communicating with remote RF networks, (CR1000, CR200 loggers, logging environmental sensors).

Thanks

Daniel

Hi,

We've done stuff like this before.

For the CR1000 you need to add an NL115 (or NL120) and then a IP modem.
The best one we've used is CallDirect CDR series.

Give me a call if you like
