10 key input to set variable value

AMK Jul 18, 2013 05:34 PM

Hi CSI,
Our field guys seasonally add and remove v-notch weirs at our gaging stations. A different set of ration curve equations are applied to the stage height depending on when the v-notch installed.

We use CR10x AND CR1000 data loggers.

Is there an example I could follow that would describe how the field techs could manually trigger a diagnostic value in the data files so post processing could determine when the v-notch weir was installed?

I think the easiest solution would be to create a diag field and manually set it to "1" when the v-notch was installed and "0" when it wasn't. This would ideally be set by the field tech onsite either with a 10key or a loggernet connection.

Other thoughts on this application?

Thanks,
AMK

In the CR10X, I would suggest modifying the program to allow the field tech to set a *4 location.

In the CR1000, I would suggest modifying the program to allow the field tech to modify a ConstTable value.

Right, that's the idea. Can you provide a link to a piece of example Edlog code that performs this?

Thanks

In the edlog program editor select the input location in the instruction in your program and use the star 4 editor button in the toolbar.
