CC5MPX Firmware update issues

ryan42 May 31, 2013 02:01 AM

Hi all,

I've been trying to update the firmware on a CC5MPX from 1.11 to 1.16. The problem is I keep getting "File transfer to the device failed." I have tried doing this remotely over a 3G IP connection and also locally while directly plugged into it.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this and if they were able to resolve it?

Cheers
Ryan

I'm having the same issue, but haven't found a solution yet.

Hey Sigfig97

I did end up getting this one sorted out. Make sure you are using internet explorer and not chrome or Mozilla or anything else. It was the browser for me.

I tried IE and it still failed, however it gave me a message that the camera did not recognize the file type.
The new firmware updates are delivered as .tar.gz format, so I unzipped it to just the .tar file and that finally worked. I know the newer firmware versions accept the .tar.gz format, but I guess the early ones only take .tar
Thanks for the reply.
