CR1000 communication setup question

kaviat May 3, 2013 12:36 AM

Hello,
We have a user who is trying to set up their loggernet software with a cr1000 device. The cr1000 is out in the field and connected to the internet via a cellular signal.

In the EZSetup under the communication setup, it asks for the IP Port settings. We have the IP address that the device is receiving from the cell signal, but we aren't sure what the port is. Is this a known network port on the device itself, or is this a port that we need to have opened and mapped on our network/firewall?

Thanks,
Tanya

Hi Tanya,
If this is a RavenXTG (AT&T) or RavenXTV (Verizon) and the port number has not been changed, try 3001.

For example 192.168.1.2:3001

Hello
I have a problem. Please help me!
I'm trying to connect the CR1000 datalogger via RS232, using the DevConfig software from LoggerNet. The errormessage:
#In order to connect to the selected device type, DevConfig needs to use the COM3 device that may also be used by the local server running on this computer. In order to prevent conflict, this dialog can attach to the local server and temporarily disable communications for any device that uses COM3. Press the Bypass button to proceed without checking with the local server. #
I don't understand, what is happened.
The last week I connected the datalogger, first with RS323, then via ethernet with NL120 modul. But this ethernet connection was interrupt, I try to change IP address. Then I try to connect the datalogger with RS322 to configure the new ethernet connection, but failed.
Thanks!
wendeg

Hi Wendeg,

For the most part I wouldn't worry much about that "Avoid Conflicts with the Local Server" dialog box, plus it's not an error message. Just hit bypass. What I'm wondering is the type of RS232 connection cable you have. Is it a USB to RS232? Is it a silver or tan colored cable or is it black in color. If it is silver or tan, it may be possible that the incorrect drivers were installed.

Regards
