Wiring of 24 V, 4-20mA current transmitters

Hello,
I'm uncertain about the wiring of an externally powered 24 V current transmitter 4-20mA. I am uncertain whether or not to connect "G" on the CR1000 with "-" on the 24V external power supply. The datalogger is powered by a seperate 12 V power supply. Doesn't "G" on the datalogger refer to the ground of the 12V power supply?

I am using CURS100 resistor to measure the signal as a differential voltage, this is my planned wiring diagram:
