Lgrnt remote network map is locked by setup screen

heiko Mar 22, 2013 04:45 PM

Hi,

I work with the Loggernet remote (Loggernet Linux). For the first test I was setting up some stations. Now I want to delete the stations, but I always get the message

'unable to edit network map. The network is currently locked by setup screen'

?? Of course, because I need to open the setup screen to remove or edit a station.

sometimes I get the message
'Editing is not allowed, the network is locked by root: setup screen'

is there a instance or a process running I should know?

How can I remove or add stations?

What happen, if I remove the config-file at the Linux computer. Will it be created during the next log in?

Thanks
Heiko

sorry!!
I had a very similar question couple days ago.

I was deleting the conf-file, restarted the loggernet (linux), setting up the users in loggernet remote. Then I could delete and edit the station!

Thanks to myself and campbell! :-),

The file lock process is normally the result of either multiple instances of someone trying to run the setup tool in this case, maybe from other machines, or the result of someone running the client and it not being shutdown correctly.

A quick way to resolve this is to stop the Loggernet daemon and restart it. That should clear the locks.
