Receiving data from IP camera with CR1000X

Johannes Sep 5, 2024 03:22 PM

Hello.

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to have a direct (crossover?) ethernet connection between a generic IP camera and a CR1000X and have the camera push the latest image via FTP to the dataloggers memory / SD-card?

Then I would like to use Loggernet to collect the data/image via PPP (cellular 4G modem) connection on RS232.

Yes, it has been done before.

In the data logger program, you will need to use the IPRoute() instruction to set outgoing connections to the PPP interface.

FTP settings of the data logger are accessed on the Network Services tab in the data logger settings. You can also use the Files Manager (in Advanced) setting to limit the number of files.

CR1000X Ethernet port has auto crossover. Any Ethernet cable should work.

Camera and data logger will need static IP addresses set for their Ethernet port. ex. 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2

Is this also possible using Radio (UHF/VHF) comms with CR1000X?
