Placement of equipment

ckeener Jun 23, 2009 09:34 PM

I took over some weather equipment that was already in place, but I think it is placed incorrectly. It is on a 25' pole on the top of a 6 story building. The temperature seems to be always 2-5 degrees lower than other nearby weather stations on Weather Undergound. Of course rain and humidity are very close, but temp and wind seem to be different. I understand the wind might be different that high in the air, but I wonder if the temperature difference is due to the height as well?

Which type of sensor?

it is unreasonable between such a height. many time, the temperture is higher on the roof because more longwave emission from the roof.

please check the resistor value use a multimeter. and compare it with the table of resistor vs temperture. and could you find another sensor?
