Modem communication LSI HDA to Maestro Heritage

Greenland Nov 23, 2012 10:25 AM

Can anyone help me with telecommunication? I want to setup an alternative modem connection with a CR1000 via a Meastro heritage modem. I can connect to the data logger using my cell phone as a modem, so I know that I have a possibility to succed with this:

My laptop is equiped with a LSI High-Definition Audio (HDA) Modem that works with Windows 7. The connection out i OK (I can ring my cell phone using Loggernet). I have tried different setups using "windows device manager" without sucess (and without skill).

This is what happens. Loggernet rings but gets no reponse. The modem log looks like this:

The log shows the modem is not getting a connection. Does the cellphone provider support answering data calls from an analogue landline? If so, they will normally issue a different number to the standard "voice" number. That number routes the incoming call via an analogue modem somewhere in their network that provides the interface into the digital phone network.

IF you call the standard number from another cellphone then you are working digitally all the way and the network will usually work out you want to make a data call automatically which is probably why that route works.

So I would double check with the network to see if the support incoming analogue data calls and if they can give you the extra number.
