Task Master crash

Suter Nov 2, 2012 08:22 AM

Hi

we have sometimes (around every 1 month) problems with the Task Master. It stops working although the other data collection procedures are working correct. When I open the Task Master the error message

The Task Master was unable to load its information properly. If the toolbar is not open, then it must be started before the Task Master can work properly.

If the toolbar is open, reconnect with the server by either using the "File|Change User" menu item (preferrred) or, if necessary, restarting the toolbar

appears. There is no File->Change User. If I restart the toolbar everything is working again.

In http://www.campbellsci.com/forum/messages.cfm?threadid=34F62FFE-65B0-4265-AC7FB27B9014716C you are referencing to an .ini file. I don't have this ini file.

Our Loggernet-Version: 4.1.0.16 on Windows XP

Thanks and kind regards,

In a default installation, the taskmaster.ini file is stored here:

C:\Campbellsci\LoggerNet\sys\inifiles

If you do not have this ini file, the user you are logged in as may not have the ability to write to this directory. There might also be some other process that is affecting the file when the software tries to access it (virus software?).

This problem occurs when other software (in our case the backup) tries to access taskmaster.ini at the same time when LoggerNet's TaskMaster uses it.

The bug in TaskMaster is that even when the Backup-Software does not use the file anymore, TaskMaster does not load it and must be restarted in order to work again.

We excluded taskmaster.ini from the Backup. However, we still experience that TaskMaster stopped working at night when the backup runs.

Are there any other files besides taskmaster.ini that need to be excluded from the backup as well?
