Password Loggenet Linux

heiko Aug 29, 2012 04:25 PM

Hi,
I made a stupid rookie mistake. Shame on me!!
I changed the password in Loggernet Remote on a Linux System and forgot it.
So far, I tought after removing & reinstaling the Loggernet Linux I be able to start setting up the root and users from the beginning.
But it seems to be, that the config file where stored the user with the password were not removed from the Linux system.
Because I still can connect to the Loggernet Linux client and login with a known user account. Sadly it´s not the root!
Question
How can I remove (or modify) the config file for Loggernet Linux after removing/uninstall the Loggernet Linux?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Heiko

Uninstalling the loggernet package does not remove the files that are created by the LoggerNet server for the simple reason that we don't want to risk deleting the user's data and/or configuration. The security information for LoggerNet is kept in a separate file, security2, that can be found in /var/opt/CampbellSci/LoggerNet/sys/bin. If you shut down the loggernet daemon, delete this file, and then restart the loggernet daemon, the security accounts will get reset to their default state.
