CC5MPX and CR10X-PB

BNZLTER Aug 2, 2012 08:25 PM

HI there,
I have set up a CC5MPX to take pictures and store them on a 2MB CR10x PakBus logger. I have wired the RS232 connection to the terminal block DB9M-TERM.

What connector do I need to go from the DB9M-TERM to the CS I/O port of the CR10X. Do I simply need a null modem, or something fancier?

This 10X is also connected to a freewave serial radio which connects to one of the 2 plugs on the SC12 cable via a SC105.

Thanks

Hello,
I have not heard any responses yet. Why does it seem like some questions get quick replies from CSI and others get none.
The CC5MPX brochure does say it supports connections with CR10XPB-2MB loggers.
This camera setup is working just fine with a CR1000. Just not with the 10X.

I tried using a SC105 and with the settings I have on it I get no pictures to the 10X.

Also, with logernet 4 I don't seem to be able to use file control with a 10X either. What is the best method, other than an automatic scheduling system, to harvest 10X picture files using loggernet. I assume this will be a problem when I am in the field accessing our loggers connected to CC640's as well.

Pleas advise.

Why does it seem like some questions get quick replies from CSI and others get none.

The forum was designed as a place for users to share knowledge, but not as a formal technical support channel for CSI's products. If you need a fast "official" answer from CSI, it's best to send an email directly to CSI or place a phone call.

The CSI employees who answer questions on the forum are not assigned to the task. I suspect most are like me -- I check the forum a few times a day (unless I'm swamped) and I try to help out where I can.

The CC5MPX is not my area of expertise so I can't be much help. I suspect that is the case for most of us who are answering questions here. That's why you'll see some questions answered quickly, and other questions may get no answer at all. The nice thing is that some of our top developers answer questions regularly -- the guys who are writing the code and know it inside and out. They're here because it's "fun" and they genuinely want to help, and they appreciate knowing how our equipment is used so that they can make it even better.

I'm sorry your question hasn't been answered. Please visit the Support page of our web site (as noted at the top of the this page), or give us a call.

I'm not familiar with the CC5MPX, and not sure what the DB9M-TERM is, but in regards to the CS-IO port on the CR10X there is some documentation available on that and I think you would need an SC32B (not sure that's the right code) or equivalent to interface it to an RS232 port. The CS-IO port has a non-standard pin-out, but does have signals for 3-wire RS232. You may also need to assert the ME (modem-enable?) pin if you're wiring up an adapter from scratch.
