Communication issues with CR1000

FireDragon Jul 30, 2012 09:07 PM

I'm using a CR1000 datalogger and a usb-to-serial cable to connect it to the PC (Windows 7 Enterprise). The issue I am having right now is that the datalogger disconnects from the PC itself and shows the following error message:

PakBus framing error, "Invalid low level signature
transaction failure", " unreachable destination", " table poll - Public_Clone
transaction failure"," timed out or resource error","table poll - Public_Clone 1

By restarting the LoggerNet and re-connecting, the communication can be set up again but it would not last long before the disconnection.

What do you think could be the reason? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I've had this error many times. I think it's definitely related to the cable you're using but whether it's physical or a driver or something else I couldn't tell you. Sometimes it can be sorted by just unplugging the cable and plugging it back in, sometimes a restart of Loggernet is needed. Try a different USB port and/or machine and if you're still getting errors then I'd try another cable. I've noticed I tend to get this more when using a USB extension cable. Don't think I get it with an SC-USB cable though.

As MPMC points out, an updated driver may help. It may also help to reduce the baud rate for the COM port in the software.
