Question regarding Pipeline Mode

JBecker Jun 2, 2009 02:12 PM

Dear All,

Our Datalogger programm is running 3 SlowSequences, where 1 is for measuremet (10s), and two other running at slower ScanRates (57s and 60s) are processing Emailsending and switching heatings for anemometers. (Main Scan is 2s)

We have problems with the Skipped Scans witch occure during the email is generated (using TableFile to create a ASCII File every night. If a file was created, it is detected in a SlowSequence and the file is send by email).

The strange thing is, that it is working on our Test- Systems but at some remote- stations it isn't.
We found out, that many skipped scans occure at those remote stations.

We now revised our program and changed from Sequential Mode to Pipeline Mode. The old program is running automaticly in Sequential Mode, the new one is switched manually to Pipeline Mode. We increased the Buffer Size to a value, that is (much) larger than the MaxBufferDepth. Since the changes there are no skipped Scans on our Test-station.

Our question is: Can we expect to reduce Skipped Scans on our remote- Stations as well?

I think the number of Skipped Scans is higher on remote stations because of the background- calibration processing ?.

Is there anything else we have to consider when we are running in Pipeline Mode? (We already changed SW12(...) to PortSet(...)).

Thank you very much in advance,

Johannes B.
