RF401 as Standalone Router

jk47i Jun 22, 2012 05:06 PM

Hi,
Has anyone had any success using an RF401 as a standalone pakbus router?
I've tried a number of times but can't seem to get it to actually work.
Does it store a neighbor list? Remember routes? Or just pass every message along, like a repeater.
Would it work to go:
CR800 w/ RF401 (ID:100) <-> RF401 (ID:200) <-> CR800 w/ RF401 (ID: 101)
Neighbor Lists
ID100 SDC7: (200,200)
ID200 (100, 101)
ID101 SDC7: (200,200)
Thanks! Any input would help as I've tried quite a few times.

How is the radio configured? The active interface for the radio needs to be set to PakBus Router, and the Protocol needs to be set as PakBus Node. Also, the power mode and radio settings (hop sequence and addresses) need to be set the same in all radios.

If you have LoggerNet 4.1, you may want to use Network Planner to help get all the settings in each device set to the correct value.
