I have one database in a remote location and would like to establish a local host database. Is there a way to establish connections to two different database hosts at the same time?

Not at the same time. Currently you'd have to manually switch back and forth between them periodically using the File menu Select Database... menu item to keep them both updated.
I am looking at a similar problem and was wondering if there was anyway to automate the switch with a script of some kind?
