Is there any way to keep Split from putting quotes around a date? I am importing the data into SigmaPlot and the quotes require me to import into Excel first if I want SigmaPlot to recognize the date.

Use the "edate" function (there is date and edate; date leaves the quotes). Either of these functions will also let you format what the timestamp looks like.
In the index, look for "date function" for a help topic called Special Functions on how date and edate work.
