measure disturbed by PWM chargers

Dear All,

Today I have discovered that in a system that measure 8 vibrating wire, using a CR1000, AVW100 and AM416, are strongly disturbed by a noise generated by a PV battery charger with PWM technology.
Has anyone encountered or solved this problem?
Even with other sensors or configurations?

thanks

This is a common problem with VW sensors as any interference in the same frequency range (or harmonics) as the sensors output can interfere or even swamp the low level signal from these sensors.

With the current setup I would review the screening of the signal cables and the relative position of cable runs to those from the charger. You could change the charger too.

An upgrade to our AVW200 (which has effectively replaced the AVW100) may well help as that interface uses advanced signal processing techniques to try to isolate the signal from the noise. This will improve the noise rejection of the system by a large factor, but will not help if the interference is very strong, at a constant frequency and in the range of the excitation frequencies of the sensor.
