Lgnet 3.4.1 RTMC questions

rlh May 11, 2009 02:33 PM

RTMC v2.5.24.0

Need to freeze a line in a Table Display, any ideas. Have it fixed to not show # of records, also need to invert display so that latest data is at top of table display. Envision an excell table, which makes me wonder if I can import an excell spreadsheet into it with a macro to process the dat file of interest.

How about a means to import a text file into a RTMC project?

Loggernet consistently locks up like it has a memory leak, there is polling going on (IP and/or direct) as well as a RTMC project. Computer OS is Win XP Pro with SP3 and latest updates. Any thoughts?

rlh,

I would suggest that you build the array of data you want to display in the logger then build a series of Data Displays stacked to look like an excel spreadsheet in the RTMC to display the data. This way you have absolute control of what is displayed where on the screen.

I don't know of any way to import a text or excel file. Maybe by running a Command or CoraScript command, not sure.

I don't know about your memory leak, someone from CSI will have to address that. I have RTMCPro running 24/7 and don't have a problem with the same window setup as you.

Good Luck,
Dave

FYI RTMC Pro V3.0 (and matching support run-time programs) do now support reading data from files and also multiple Loggernet servers.

I doubt this is the best way to solve your problem though. Better to create a separate, special datatable in the logger as already suggested.

With regards to the memory leak. Could you please send evidence of this to info@campbellsci.com for forwarding to the software support group. As far as I know there are no general issues with memory leaks.

Thanks for the info, already have it setup in data tables but still need to freeze the header and have the data read from latest to oldest.

I will put on a memory stressor and provide you the results, taskmanager shows lgrnet and lgnerservice increasing in base memory over time though.

I had the same memory problem with RTMC as you did. You will be quite suprised by upgrading to RTMC Pro vers 3.0, I have a 55 page project with hundreds of numerics and graphs and it used to take 5 min to open (and would crash if attempting certain alarms of IFF statements). the same project now takes 30 seconds to load and allows external data to be displayed (non-cached). The only problem I have is that after compilation, any tabled areas are misaligned in run-time (and the timestamps from records reverts to PC time)....please give it a try...you'll wish you did when it became avail in Jan

Mike,
What external files are you importing and how. I am trying to take a comma deliminated file generated by another program and bring it into a table for viewing in RTMC Pro.

I have noticed that RTMC Pro is a real CPU hog though. Running an INTEL dual core with 6 gig memory on an Asus MB with XP Pro. Installing on an AMD quad core with 8 gig to see if it helps.
