How to connect type K and T thermocouples to a CR1000M

bianchilucas Sep 13, 2011 03:41 PM

Hello,
this could be a very silly question but I don't know how to connect type K and T thermocouples to a CR1000M that I have mounted in a Fire Remote Automatic Weather Station.

Please help me!.
Thanks,

Lucas.

It is certainly not a silly question. It is a very good one. And luckily for CSI, it demonstrates the flexibility of our products.

To my knowledge:
The RAWS station is a pre-packaged / pre-programmed station that does not ship from CSI ready to read the thermocouples. It has that capability, but will require a program modification. The thermocouples could be routed to the inside of the enclosure and attached to one of the four differential voltage channels exposed on the wiring panel.

A TCDiff() instruction would be added for each thermocouple.

If you are comfortable with CRBasic you can download the program, edit it by adding the variables and instructions needed, save it as a new name (hopefully something that CSI would recognize as non-standard for our packaged RAWS-F), and send it to the datalogger.

If you need help, no worries. Give us a call at 435-227-9100 and ask to speak with a Fire Weather expert.
